St. Catherines Classic Car Show, Saturday July 4th
The 13th Annual Downtown Classic Car show in St. Catherines provides an amazing stroll down memory lane with over 400 classic cars for every car enthusiast. Just 22 minutes away from your new WatervieW home gives you a great way to view these classic automobiles. With free admission and free registration it’s a great event for the whole family. Cars will be lined up along St. Paul Street and other downtown streets.
Ridgeway Summer Festival, 3-5th July
47 minutes away near Fort Erie is the Ridgeway Summer Festival that offers a comprehensive family event including live music and other live entertainers, a car show on Sunday from 9am to 5pm, an annual street dance, a pancake breakfast and a crafter’s marketplace. Admission is free.
Artistry by the Lake, 4-5th July
Niagara-on-the-Lake is one of the most picturesque places in Ontario and is only a 39 minute drive from your condo in Grimsby. This weekend it will be made even more impressive with views of splendour provided by artists. This juried art show provides an opportunity to show off their prized artist renderings while at the same time being judged against their peers. With various art categories including paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, wood, fibre arts, jewellery and more. Take a true scenic stroll among natural and man-made beauty. Admission is free.
Battle of Chippawa Re-enactment, 5th July
Looking for a great cultural event that will both wow and educate you and your children? The Re-enactment of the Battle of the Chippawa put on by Niagara Parks at the Chippawa Battlefield Park commemorates a historical battle of the War of 1812. Rediscover your Canadian roots and patriotism by witnessing part of a seminal event that shaped our nation. Admission is free. A short 40 minute drive will put you at the heart of the battle. Battle starts at 5pm, so be sure to arrive early to get parking and a seat to enjoy it.
Battle of the Voices, 1-2, 4-8th July
Are you a fan of American Idol, America’s Got Talent or The Voice? This fantastic music extravaganza is show that pits the artists of these shows against each other in a live sing-off event at Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort. Hosted by 98 Degrees band member Drew Lachey it is a musical event sure to provide great entertainment. As an audience member you get to choose the winner. Tickets are $35 per person and it’s advised to call or visit their website to purchase tickets in advance.
Of course there are tons of other events that run all summer long, like the Grimsby Market every weekend, Music under the Stars at the Jackson Triggs Amphitheatre, or the Niagara Parks Grand View Marketplace Summer entertainment.
